New Adoption Program approved at New Directions Youth and Family Services

New Directions Youth and Family Services has received approval from New York State to operate an adoption program. Through its Global Village Therapeutic Foster Care Program, the agency currently offers therapeutic foster care services and post-adoption services.

“Being able to do some steps in the adoption process that in the past had been done by counties should help us speed up the process,” said Lynn Siradas, director of Global Village Therapeutic Foster Care.

“We hope to make the process go more quickly and smoothly,” said Laurie Grimm, family resource/intake coordinator at Global Village.

The adoption program will be administered out of the two Global Village offices. The Northern Tier office is located at 1455 Kensington Ave., Buffalo, and the Southern Tier office is located at Randolph Children’s Home campus, 356 Main St., Randolph.
New Directions currently offers therapeutic foster care for children with emotional and behavioral problems. Its post-adoption program supports families who have adopted teens and children and who need help to meet their family’s emotional, behavioral, social or educational challenges. The approval came through the New York State Office of Children & Family Services.
